In 1985, Elliott Hunter founded Elliott Hunter & Associates in historic Carthage, Missouri. Jeff Millard, an associate since 1987, became a partner and a second Principal Architect for the firm in 2002. To reflect this change, the firm updated its name to Hunter & Millard Architects, Inc. and shortly after relocated the office to Joplin, Missouri.
In 2018, Hunter & Millard began overseeing restorations to an early twentieth-century building at the southwest corner of 15th & Main Street in the center of Joplin, MO, to use as its permanent headquarters. This larger space is allowing the firm to continue to grow and develop to better serve each of our clients.
